Minnesota State High School League Exhibit
For this exhibit poster, I wanted to create a piece that would be sophisticated, but still fun. The exhibit was for the High School students of section 8AA, and I didn’t want the poster to be childish and colorful because of the blank of having your work displayed in the walls of an exhibit. The background started as an idea to have the background be a textured black and white, and as I was sketching layouts, I needed to sharpen my pencil. My pencil sharpener had opened, all the shavings had fallen out, and that’s when I found the texture I was looking for. The photo of pencil shavings was inverted in photoshop and edited to increase the grain and texture.
